In Italy geezers have their own sport – bocce ball. It’s slow, convivial and requires little to no strength. In the Bay Area instead of a dusty village square we have Campo di Bocce, two slick facilities in San Carlos and midst the vineyards of Pleasanton. Both with outdoor and indoor courts.

You can learn the rules on their website in about 4 minutes.

Cost is $10 for 1.5 hours.

Each have attached bars and restaurants offering Italy’s greatest hits including pizza, panini and cioppino.

Be advised that the lunch and dinner crowds are here to play and party heartily.
