They keep telling us that the Bay Area is a major center for contemporary artists. Where, other than Burning Man, are they all? The consistently best stuff the Geezer sees is at Creative Growth in Oakland, a center for adult artists with disabilities. They certainly are not creatively disabled. Their current show “Sprung” is a stunner. As colorful as a gallery full of Keith Harings, using every technique and material imaginable. Standouts are embroidered shirts, a menagerie of wooden sculptures, waxed paper doll dresses and very intense drawings. You can walk away with a small clay sculpture for under $40.  Show runs April 15 to May  21.
