Now that summer is finally here it’s time for geezers to find some shade. In toasty Palo Alto the Gamble Gardens are cool, green and free.  Its 2.4 acres are dense with plantings including 300 species of iris and a woodland glen of magnolias, rhodedendrons and cammelias. The Georgian Revival home was built in 1902 and everything is tidily preserved.
