Bay Area senior duffers enjoy a lengthy list of golf venues, but none match the natural attractions of Monarch Bay on the water in San Leandro. It’s not the soothing Bay views that make it so memorable. It’s the array of wildlife that calls this 18-hole course home. Avian residents include a variety of geese, mudhens, egrets, hawks and seagulls. There’s a red fox pup that will be happy to share your sandwich with you. Keep your bags of Cheetos closed. Fearless squirrels have been known to steal them. Eco-tip courtesy of Chuck Farnsworth.
$29 on weekdays for seniors 55>.
