Bay senior cinephiles know one of the greatest films ever shot here was Hitchcock’s “Vertigo”, a disturbing mystery starring James Stewart and Kim Noval. You can revisit the movie’s somewhat creepy sites on a couple of tours. One is Alfred Hitchcock’s San Francisco, a walk around the Nob Hill and Downtown locations that the suspense meister used. It’s free with donations encouraged. For Hitch fans with bigger budgets Vertigo Tours offer a 4 hour San Francisco version including the Fort Point waterfront where Kim Novak leapt into the surf for $300 per couple, or a 10 hour one that includes the film’s scenes in San Juan  Bautista for $660. The City still looms large in Hollywood imaginations. Production is reported to begin soon on “San Andreas:3D” about you know what.
