Bay seniors who’d like their grandkids to try their uncalloused little hands at life on a farm should check out the action at Ardenwood in Fremont. On Sunday May13 at 11 at a special “farm chores” event, the kids will be cracking corn, feeding animals and checking for chicken eggs. East Bay Parks is always coming up with offbeat activities for children raised on a diet of video games. In the next few months look for opportunities to shear sheep, harvest hay, make rope, build toys, cook on a wood stove, see a blacksmith at work. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays children are $2 and seniors are $3. Register here.
