Bay seniors who find Tahoe too cold to tempt them in and South Shore casinos not tempting at all still have a lot of reasons to brave the traffic on 1-80 to The Lake. The Geezer’s first suggestion is not to be on the road on weekends. It’s madness. Though the winter snowpack was less than expected you can still get white water rafting thrills on the Upper Truckee. Tahoe’s cultural attractions have moved way beyond an evening with Tom Jones. Neil Young, Norah Jones and Joe Cocker are all playing at Harvey’s Outdoor Amphitheater at Stateline in August. At the Summer Arts Fest catch Shakespeare at Sand Harbor or Beethoven at Incline Village. Earlier in the summer you could have seen the Truckee Rodeo or the Valhalla Renassiance Faire. Maybe next year.
