Bay seniors who treasure sweet, undeniably fresh bivalve molluscs know to head west to the coast of Marin to Tomales Bay for generous helpings of  bbq and raw oysters, especially available on summer weekends. You’ll find them in roadside stands, markets and restaurants including the Marshall’s Store and Hog Island Island Oyster Farm (also available in SF’s Ferry Building), both of which offer pre-shucked versions as well as wine and beer and charcuterie. For my money, the best of the best is the oyster pizza at Stelline in Point Reyes Station.
