Bay seniors know better than to hit popular trails on summer weekends. You might as well be on the sidewalks of Market Street. But mid-week we can have these paths of glory pretty much to ourselves. Among the Geezer’s top ten is Steep Ravine which unravels down the western slope of Mt.Tamalpais to Stinson Beach. You can always walk up it or do the whole Dipsea Trail from Mill Valley. But a trek down from the Pan Toll parking lot is the least taxing. Its 3.2 miles are steep, with stairs and even a ladder but it’s as lush as a rain forest as it follows the spillway of Webb Creek. Head back up by bus which leaves across from the Sand Dollar restaurant at 3.
