Bay seniors who’d like a brief dip into a 1950’s Las Vegas time warp should head up to Santa Rosa, of all unlikely places, and check out the Flamingo Resort. Opened in 1957 before Sonoma County was nowhere near as glamorous as it is today, the architecture is as kitschy as a 1955 Cadillac. Close your eyes and you might see the ghost of Jayne Mansfield preening poolside. Rates are shockingly reasonable starting around $170. It is justifiably a National Historic Landmark.
