Bay seniors with more taste than money are required to know about the free concerts held every Wednesday from 12:15 to 1 in Hertz Hall on the UC Berkeley Campus, just south of Strawberry Glade. On October 24 there will be violin and harpsichord duets, including two J.S.Bach sonatas.  Two days latter composer Philip Glass who I blame for the fabulously creepy music in most current Hollywood thrillers will be speaking at a free symposium on his celebrated Einstein on the Beach, which will be re-staged the following day at Zellerbach Hall. Back in Hertz Hall on Wednesday October 31, drift away to Debussy’s La Mer and Varese’s Arcana. Again, for free.
