Outdoor activities in the Bay Area don’t get more eye popping than this. It’s very rare to find waterfalls dropping into an ocean but you can see one in Point Reyes. Alamere Falls splashes down 40 feet into the Pacific, at its most fulsome from December to May. Get there via the spectacular Palomarin Trail. It ‘s about 7.5 miles roundtrip and starts just pass the old Marconi station north of Bolinas. Ribboning along the cliffs between mentholated eucalytus groves, small lakes and streams, the Trail is expectedly popular. Hiking during the week is recommended. Bring your camera phone.
