Bay oldsters might experience one of their dreaded “senior moments” if I asked them to name two great American sculptors raised a few blocks from each other on the rim of the Sunset District. OK, don’t go running to Google. Mark di Suvero (whose incredible real name is Marco Polo Levi-Schiff di Suvero) and Richard Serra towered over the art world in the last 50 years and –no surprise- their home town all but ignores them. There is one bright red di Suvero gracing the parking lot at the Legion of Honor and Serra has a massive titling maze at Stanford. Do you where the Geezer can find more? I propose stationing an army of Serras and di Suveros down The Embarcadero. Anyone have Dede Wisey’s phone number?
