Bay seniors’ grandchildren who have been indoctrinated into the evils of sugar won’t believe their eyes when they step into the stately, plush lobby of SF’s Fairmont Hotel this holiday. Rising before them is a two- story house constructed from 5,500 gingerbread bricks, 850 pounds of icing, 425 pounds of candy and eight gallons of chocolate. Peering in the windows they will see a vast collection of nutcrackers. Free.
By the way, am I the only one who has never eaten, much less seen, a sugarplum?
