Bay seniors getting restless staying indoors during this chilly damp winter and reluctant to slog along muddy trails, tend to forget the paved paths waiting for them in Golden Gate Park. Most of the 13 million annual visitors are gone and there are miles and miles of flat trails, all free of road-hogging cyclists, which get emptier as you walk west. The Park’s normally morbid landscaping is even more mistily poetic during the winter. If you haven’t checked out the new facilities at Stow Lake you may surprised at how well they’ve been restored and what a bargain the paddle boat rentals still are.
