Bay seniors can get a sense of San Francisco before it became San Francisco on a short walk through the recently restored dunes on Lobos Creek in the Presidio. The boardwalk path which edges the still flowing Lobos Creek is barely a mile long as rolls towards the Pacific. Thanks to volunteer efforts a rich variety of flora has been brought back to life. A free guided walk this Sunday January 12 will detail the dramatic changes. And should you be inspired to get your hands dirty and join in open space restorations around the Bay Area, contact the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy.
