Bay seniors may not recall that a king of Siam used to bestow white elephants on obnoxious courtiers knowing they’d have a difficult time getting rid of the beasts. Which is not the case at this weekend ’s White Elephant Sale benefiting the Oakland Museum. Their 96,000 square foot warehouse is jammed with millions of items from the useful to the flagrantly bizarre. It runs from 10 to 4 but you know the professional shoppers will be there early for best deals. Admission is free and there is a free shuttle from Fruitvale BART.
