Bay seniors who are reconsidering their decision to spend the summer reading Dostoevsky, might opt instead for a terrific living American author. Carl Hiasson is a Florida writer of wickedly funny, often ecologically themed, mysteries – at least a dozen of them, each short enough to finish in a summer weekend. Reading him has been known to become a fixation. Hiasson will be speaking this Saturday at Book Passage in Marin at 7 and Sunday at 777 Valencia Street.
