Bay seniors would have to be around 80 to remember the art deco splendors of the 1939 Golden Gate International Exhibition on Treasure Island. A group is trying to revive memories of the Fair and the Pan Am seaplanes that took off from there to Asia. This Saturday July 13 the nascent Treasure Island Museum is having a barbeque and lecture at 10:30 in Building One. They are not just looking backwards. The lecture is called “Magic City 2.0” and deals with plans to revive the Island’s commercial and residential potential. Be sure to ask how they plan to deal with the 25 knot winds blowing in from the Golden Gate.
