Bay seniors who wonder why the Peninsula is awash in money and yet a desert of great art will have to be satisfied with the sculpture at Stanford where every third Sunday there is a free art walk talk of the University’s garden art. There are over 100 pieces on view. Stanford boasts more Rodins than anywhere outside Paris. Eco-sculptor Andy Goldsworthy created a site specific curving wall here of stone from buildings destroyed in the 1906 and 1989 earthquake. Don’t overlook the dramatic works from New Guinea. The tour is free as is the nearby Cantor Museum itself where an exhibit of Carrie Mae Weems, an important contemporary photographer, is on view.
