Even more magnanimous is the SF Ballet where you can call the box office on the day of performance and reserve a ticket with a $30 discount.
If you’re over 65 you can get $5 off at Cal Performances.
Big touring Broadway shows offer rush tickets a few days before opening night and discounts to subscribers.
ACT offers senior discounts when you purchase one of the play packages, valid only for weekend matinees.
Down the Peninsula,TheatreWorks offers discounts for anyone 62 and older.
The only savings at the SF Jazz Center are for subscribers.
Berkeley Rep offers a $10 off senior discount an hour before show time.
Tix, the box office in Union Square, sells cheaper seats to everyone, no matter how old they are, on the day of performance. It’s open 7 days a week from 10 to 6 and you can find a whole slew of discounts on their website via Goldstar.
