MathewsBay seniors who are so dogmatic they think California’s beauty can only be found hiking outdoors might be surprised on their next visit to the Oakland Museum of California Art. “Inspiration Points”, an exhibition closing on July 13 displays works of West Coast landscape masters such as Ansel Adams, David Hockney, Edward Weston as well as Richard Misrach’s stunning images of the 1991 Oakland fire. In fact I’d probably put my vote in for Misrach as our greatest local living artist. He even managed to re-imagine the clichéd Golden Gate Bridge. Seniors $10.
