Bay seniors who don’t restrict their musical interests to great moments in rock will be happy to know that Yoshi’s in San Francisco has free jazz concerts in their Lounge Wednesdays through Saturdays from 6:30 to 10. This Friday, for example, saxophonist Noel Catura and his band are playing. Yoshi’s, you may or may not know, was just sold after years in financial straits. Let’s hope the new owners don’t tweak the old formula too dramatically. Speaking of jazz, did you know that the SF Jazz Center offers senior discounts when you buy memberships? And if you’re interested in actually playing yourself why not check out the Jazz School in Berkeley?
