presidioBay seniors whose service to their country did not include meals at the Presidio Mess Hall, can now make up for lost dinners. The 1895 building on the Parade Grounds has been renamed The Commissary and re-imagined by the estimable Traci des Jardins of Jardiniere and Mijita with a menu fittingly inflected with the Spanish history of the Presidio. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and a full bar. Highlights include artichoke and fennel paella ($28) and churros with chocolate ($9).The National Park Service is so pleased with her makeover that they recently offered Chef des Jardins the opportunity to do her magic on the historic Officer’s Club renamed Arguello.
