Bay seniors looking for a beach with Imax views and a decided lack of visitors might want to check out 413-acre Point Molate on the Richmond shoreline just north of the San Rafael Bridge. The walking path is a nice, flat 1.4 miles. A pier reaches out 1400 feet into the Bay. There’s even an intact Teutonic castle that was once the largest winery in the country prior to Prohibition. Molates waterfront is a muddy, tidal basin so don’t bother bringing a bathing suit. The plans to turn the area into a casino appears to be reassuringly dead.
