Bay seniors who wouldn’t mind living in the past, at least for a night, are invited to board the Delta King docked in Old Sacramento. This 285-foot wooden paddle wheeler was originally built in 1926 and plied the Sacramento River until the Bay bridges made travel to the capital faster. Now it is a floating hotel with 44 staterooms, 2 restaurants, weekend live entertainment, a wine school and theaters, one of which showcases a murder mystery that has been running for 15 years. An overnight, including a 3-course dinner, starts at $99. It stays firmly docked and because of strict fire safety laws does not cruise anywhere.
