BrionesBay seniors who want a last jolt of Spring before California turns golden might want to hike Briones Park in the East Bay. Its 6,255 acres have a rolling network of trails the high point being the loop route past the 1,483 foot Briones Peak. The views are cineramic from Diablo to Tamalpais from Suisan Bay to the Delta. As Spring ends you can catch the last blaze of wildflowers. A few areas even allow unleashed dogs. The website promises deer and coyote sightings though I have never been that lucky
