oacBay seniors, watching the Range Rovers purr along Throckmorton Avenue, can be understandably concerned about the Los Angelization of Mill Valley. But the half-timbered Tudor charms of the town are still intact as is the bucolic Outdoor Art Club. Designed in 1904 by arts and crafts master Bernard Maybeck it is a registered historic landmark and still a private, women- only club dedicated to a wide array of conservation and landscaping activities. Though now mainly a wedding venue you can arrange to tour it any Saturday from 10am to 11:45 am. A 10 minute walk west takes you to the Old Mill Park redwood grove (the mill that started everything is still there) a cool, arcadian escape on hot summer days.
