Bay seniors in search of a historic night’s sleep might want to check into the Tallman Hotel in Upper Lake, just north of Clear Lake. It is like something out of “Gunsmoke”. Built in the 1870s as a stopover on the stagecoach route to Ukiah, the place has been stylishly restored with antiques, including the plumbing fixtures. There are suites and garden rooms, some with outdoor showers and Japanese soaking tubs. A lovely pool and spa have been added. Next door the Blue Wing Restaurant and Saloon has also been spiffily reincarnated. Check for nights showcasing live music. Rooms $149-249.
