Bay seniors who never tire of being reminded of SF’s quirky history might want to sign up for the Wild SF Tours that happen every Sunday morning. Artist/activist guides lead you through a social history of the Downtown with recaps of the lesser-known antics during the Gold Rush and the Earthquake and on the Barbary Coast’s red light district. Meet in Union Square by the heart statue. Pay-what-you-want though $10 donations are suggested. Wild Tours also conducts rambles in the Mission, Chinatown and the Castro. In addition the Geezer recommends the eye opening SF history articles by Gary Kamaya that have been running in the Chron.
