Mt.Tam is ribboned with hiking trails and in this post rainy season, none is lovelier than the Dipsea Trail. Start at the Pantoll Ranger Station and head west down through redwood glens, across fresh rivulets like the Webb Creek, past waterfalls, down mountainside ladders to open spaces with jaw dropping panoramas of the Pacific Coast and end up at the sunny stretch of 1.4 square mile Stinson Beach. Return the way you came. It’s a thrilling 3.9 mile round trip.
