4 foot tall Blue Herons with their six foot wingspans and seemingly endless ability to stand as still as statues are undeniably examples of nature at its most awesome. Right now is their spring nesting season and chicks are being hatched, especially at their home turf around Stow Lake in Golden Gate Park. You are invited to join local naturalists and volunteers to observe this phenomenon from 10-1 on May 12 and 19 and June 2,9 and 16. The terrain is flat. $10 for non-member adults, kids are free.
