A splashier reminder of one of our rainiest Aprils is the 162 foot Phantom Falls in the 3,300 acre North Table Reserve near Oroville, 2.5 hours from the Bay Area. The surroundings are rolling, lush with spring fields of lupine, buttercups, clover and poppies. The 4.2 roundtrip hike to and from the parking lot is easy going. Remember you need a $4 pass from California Fish & Wildlife.
