The city’s long affinity with anything French comes alive this Saturday, Bastille Day. The largest scale celebration is a Bal Populaire in Justin Herman Plaza from 10am to 7pm. Besides Gallic music and food there’s a vintage car show and pétanque.Free entry. Moving downtown you’ll run across a French Block party by the Irish Bank on Mark Lane where there’s music on an outdoor stage and French nibbles.$10. Belden Place, an alley with a string of European restaurants is having it’s tradition Bastille Day blowout starting at 5pm. $10.
