August is another ideal month to check out the Rosie the Riveter National Historical Park in Richmond. The museum always provides a rich graphic history of those stirring times. This month you’ll want to check out their celebration/salute to those patriotic workers, especially the women, who helped build our assault armaments. On the 11th starting at 11 am wear your mid century costumes at a gala party to honor those employees. On the 23rd the free Home Front Film Festival will continue with a screening aboard the SS Oak Victory. Be advised to check out their lecture schedule, especially the ones where an original worker Betty Reid Soskin, at venerable age 96, recalls those grueling glory days.
