Did you know the oldest cookbook was a clay one found in Assyria and created in 1750BC? If you are omnivorous you’ll want bites of that civilization’s many recipes at this weekend’s 26th Annual Assyrian Food Festival, from 11am to 9pm on Saturday and Sunday under the auspices of the Assyrian Church of the East  in San Jose. The menu is far more  than tabbouleh and humus. The music is live. The dancing is authentically folkloric  Of course there are historical exhibits, a parade and chance for you to ask what the difference is between Assyria and Mesopotamia.
