After slogging through rainy, wintry weeks we are desperate for any signs of spring. (Not like our East Coast brethren who have months to wait.) First indications of a new season are already blossoming in the SF Botanical Garden, which offers the most significant resplendence of magnolias, some up to 80 feet tall, outside of China. An explosion of white, pink and silver flowerets from 51 species will be on dazzling display from now through March. The show is free for SF residents. $9 for out of town seniors. On March 2 stop by for an eye-popping magnolia plant sale.
