Back in 17th century Naples, lutes evolved into metal stringed mandolins. Their soaring romanticism gained wider and wider popularity. San Francisco even today has an active community of dedicated players. On April 29 from 1-5 at the Croation American Cultural Center in SF, local talent will be performing at their 19th Annual Festival, a tribute to mandolin masters, featuring students and, if you have your own instrument, you are welcome to join in with masters, including ones from the Aurora Mandolin Orchestra. Advance tickets $15. $20 at the door.
