Hidden for two centuries at Mission Dolores is a mural painted when the church was ¬†first built in 1791. It is on the basilica’s back wall, 22 feet by 20 feet, and full of Christian imagery as well as abstract patterns designed by Ohlone artists. Covered and hidden by wooden screens it was only rediscovered in 2004 and though somewhat worn and damaged by the years it has been preserved in digitized form
